There are the MIB & the adventures of Agent-J. Perhaps a variation of the MIB theme can be seen in the tasks of the Observer & other characters that provide the occasional adjustment of time & space. Doctor Who has become a very popular character since the 1960s. As a time lord, he can observe & travel through time & space. 
Its all about The Intersection Point of Reality through science & fiction. All sorts of things can be perceived in various ways at The Intersection Point (T.I.P.) of Reality.

The Observer is quite a fascinating character & class of being that can edit or adjust reality. They are almost like the MIB. For them, time is like an interactive recording & projection of reality. Indeed, reality is full of strange sightings, rabbit holes & eastereggs.
